General Rules  2009

Music:  Participants must submit separate CD’s for each of their entries on the day of competition. There must be only one track on each CD. The CD must be clearly labeled with the competitor’s name, number, school, and title of entry. Participants are responsible for a backup CD. The cue should not exceed 5 seconds at the beginning of the music. *Note: Music should be recorded at your desired speed, for their will be no adjustments made during the competition. Participants need to also notify the backstage manager about ANY music irregularities, such as pauses, volume changes, etc.

Video:  The ADC will provide each competitor with a state of the art video to purchase. No personal video cameras will be permitted in the theaters. If a camera is found, The ADC reserves the right to confiscate the videotape being used and disqualification could result. Please give us your full cooperation in this matter.

Photography:  ABSOLUTELY NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY IS PERMITTED. Photos are allowed to be taken during the performance, just make sure the flash is turned off.

  • -All performances are held before a public audience.
  • -A tentative schedule of the competition will be available prior to the date. The schedule is based on a first come, first serve basis, and on the number of entries, so no time requests will be accepted. *However: when you receive the schedule and find that you don’t have enough time to change costumes, it is imperative that you contact our office immediately. If the office is not notified, and the stage manager and emcee are not aware of the situation, points will be deducted if not ready to compete

  • The ADC does run the competition numerically, but each competitor must be prepared to compete out of order. This is necessary to prevent delays in the competition due to costume changes.

  • Costumes and make-up are the responsibility of each competitor.

  • The ADC holds the right to add additional competition days and times if pertinent, and has the right to move the competition location if circumstances are presented beyond The ADC’s control.

  • The ADC, upon its own discretion, has the right to refuse any application.

  • The ADC EXPECTS SPORTSMANLIKE behavior from all their competitors, teachers and families. Failure to comply with this could result in disqualification.

  • The Jury reserves the right not to award all scholarships and prizes, and to divide any award between more than one competitor.

  • The ADC will hand out score sheets/audio corrections to studio directors, at the end of the competition.

  •  The competition is of a fair nature, and solely based on merit; thus the decisions of the judges are final.

  • All photos and video recordings of the competitors during the competition may be used by The ADC for promotional ventures.

  • All medalists and Top Score Winners agree to perform, if requested by The ADC, for no fee at subsequent competitions.

  • The ADC, or it’s hosting venue are not responsible for any damage, injury or loss during the competition.

  • NO SMOKING IS PERMITTED IN ANY OF OUR VENUES.

  • Make sure you have read all the rules and regulations carefully, for failure to abide by them, will result in point deductions, or disqualification.

  •  If any issue arises, and is not clearly addressed in the rules and regulations, the decision of The ADC shall be binding.

Registration

  • All applications must be printed clearly, for The ADC is not responsible for any misspellings, unless submitted in typed form.

  • All entry fees may be paid with the following: personal/studio check, money order, or cashier’s check.

  • No phone or fax entries will be accepted. All mail in entries must be paid in full before they will be processed.

  • NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR ANY REASON.

  • There will be a $50.00 charge for all checks returned by the bank. Anyone that has a dishonored check will be required to make all future payments by money order or cashier's check.

  • All entry forms/fees MUST be in The ADC’s office 45 days prior to the competition date. DEADLINE is: Febuary 3, 2009

  • DISCOUNT DEADLINE, register before: January 19, 2009 and ADC will reimburse 10% of your entry fees.

  • VIDEO PRE-SUBMISSIONS MUST be in the ADC office by:  January 19, 2009 to be considered for full scholarship. Fees MUST be sent in at the time of registration. If selected, ADC will reimburse the full amount.
